JOHN
GLICK I MICHIGAN
Entering the passing lane again…O.K. by me. Reflections on the start of my 40th year of following my instincts. Someone probably told us in school way back then that this adventure called “artist” was going to be a lot of fun. As it is, I tell each studio assistant as they begin their year with me, “ Hey, this is supposed to be fun” My attempt to pass on a good thing! I remain very pleased to be discovering what it is that I will be doing in my work by the actual process of doing it. I love surprises and I look on every day as a chance for encountering a few to play with. Every work session provides opportunities to venture off the familiar path and I am grateful for that. It always feels a bit like pulling out into the passing lane to get going on the rest of the trip. O.K. by me. John Parker Glick Born: Detroit, Michigan,
