Call for Entries

AKAR has been a ceramic gallery sice 1998 in downtown Iowa City, Iowa. We have had shows with such artists as Maren Kloppman, Michael Simon, Chuck Hindes, Randy Johnston and Jan McKeachie-Johnston and more. This year we decided that we would like to start a yearly juried show in order to bring more variety to our gallery and to help us with our constant search for ceramic artists and potters. So we came up with "Forms and Shapes" which translates in Sanskrit as AKAR. Each year we will focus on different forms of function and forms of inspiration. For our second show in 2004 we have choosen the box. We would like to see a wide variety of both functional and sculptural interpretations in clay.
